hello. i have an illustration in todays guardian newspaper on the front of the society section. its an interesting article about the needs of the social work system and the people involved. well worth a read plus you get my drawing for free. it was an interesting piece to work on and also how the header was written in response to the illustration which made the whole process a solid collaboration

brian wildsmith

i recently purchased' the twelve days of christmas' by brian wildsmith. 

his first childrens book was published in 1962 and he has won various awards over the years. alot of his book contain themes of animals, nature, or are based on fables  but i had never seen this one before. it feels very contemporary in its use of colour and pictorial abstraction

adventures in lithography

over the christmas holidays i managed to get a chance to try lithography, thanks to the great technicians at Camberwell. its a process the responds well to direct drawing and something i will try to push in 2009

red stone design christmas card

just designed a christmas card for red stone design. it will also be printed on an apron so ill post that once its complete

the catalogue for the print series by 'if you could.....' is now available to buy from their website. It is a collection of all 24 prints produced over the last year and includes work by Kam Tang, Antony Burrill, Hellovon and many more. Also an exhibition of all the prints can be seen until the end of the month at Kemistry gallery

christmas sales

sleeproom animation

been working on an animation with pete mellor also of peepshow for the last three weeks.
it is for a bed company and tells the story of a bear struggling to hibernate
heres a couple of stills but i will post the animation on my website soon

playstation

just finished designing a level for the new playstation game 'little big planet' were the player can build their own levels. i don't know much about these games but it seems pretty amazing as you build from different materials that the real laws of physics are applied to. i used the tools to create a level of drawings, which works in a modular system. i would like to keep this in mind and apply the same restrictions when making some new drawings

lots too catch up on as ive been letting this blog gather dust. so firstly i recently did some work for a show involving havana rum.i created a tattoo sheet based on the code of sailors but adapted for someone landlocked on the streets of london. more photos on teh site soon
